Дэвид Квексилбер обучался классической игре на саксофоне и кларнете, и у же с юных лет он выступал с известными коллективами, включая Шенберг Ансамбль и Bony Band. Специально для этого талантливого музыканта с удовольствием пишут многие голландские композиторы. Среди них Маартен Альтена и Гюс Янссен. С последним Дэвида объединяет любовь к импровизации и камерной музыке. Девиз дуэта: " Мы ничего не скрываем, не любим крайностей и не поддаемся никаким влияниям".

Красоты итальянских арий и неополитанских песен уже с детства окружали пианиста и аранжировщика Майка дел Ферро - их исполнял его отец, известный оперный певец Леонард дел Ферро. Именно они и стали темой джазовых композиций и свободных импровизаций талантливого музыканта, руководителя Трио. Не только песни из классических американских мюзиклов вдохновляют джазовых музыкантов, но и "клише" пения бельканто, украшенное элементами свинга, может быть душевно "спето" на музыкальных инструментах.

Guus Janssen (1951) studied piano and composition at the Sweelinck Academy of Music in Amsterdam. As a pianist and harpsichordist he performed in various settings with a.o. George Lewis, John Zorn, Han Bennink, Theo Loevendie, Gidon Kremer. Since the early 1980's he has own ensembles, ranging from (piano) trio's to 11-piece band and (opera) orchestra. As a soloist, and primarily in his own compositions, he was to be heard at quite a few international festivals such as a.o. the Warschauer Herbst Festival, Holland Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and Wien Modern '94. Besides, he performed with a.o. the Sch?nberg Ensemble, ASKO Ensemble, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam and Residentie Orkest.
Janssen's achievements in the field of jazz- and improvised music have been widely acclaimed. It was for them that he received the Boy Edgar Award, 1981. His compositions, not including the pieces written for the Janssen ensembles, range from piano-music and string quartet to symphonic work; they have been widely interpreted by a.o. the Kronos Quartet, Mondriaan Quartet, De Volharding, Sch?nberg Ensemble, Radio Kamerorkest and Concertgebouw Orkest, with soloist as a.o. Leonore Pameyer, Walter van Hauwe, Harry Starnaay, Gerard Bouwhuis and Gidon Kremer. In recognition of his standing and quality as a composer, Janssen won the prestigious Matthijs Vermeulen Award, 1984.
So far Janssen has composed two opera's in collaboration with Friso Haverkamp: 'Faust's Licht' (1988/1993) and 'Noach' (1994). Janssen's recent work includes: 'Klots', commissioned and performed by Gidon Kremer and the Sch?nberg Ensemble, with the composer as soloist on hi-hat, 'Zock' for stringorchestra, piccolo and harpsichord, and 'Passevite' commissioned by the WDR (West German Radio) for the 20th Anniversary of the Sch?nberg Ensemble.

Pianist, Composer and Arranger Mike del Ferro
(Amsterdam,23 8 1965) started playing classical Piano at the age of 9. At the age of 17 he fell in love with Jazz and he studied Jazz piano at the Hilversum Conservatory (Holland) with Rob Madna and Henk Elkerbout, and obtained his Master Degree in 1990.

By 1989 he had won already the first prize (a grand Piano) at a Jazzpiano competition in Rotterdam, that same year he won the Prize for the best soloist at the Europe Jazz Contest in Brussels and the first prize at the Karlovy Vary Jazzcontest in former Czechoslovakia.

In 1993 he met Bob Brookmeyer, who was so impressed with Mike's composing talents that he arranged a Scholarship which allowed Mike to study composition and arranging with Brookmeyer for 3 years at the University in Colon (Germany).

His reputation as a soloist, accompanist, composer and arranger has led to his performing, recording and touring on major venues all over the world with musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Jack DeJohnette, Oscar Castro Neves, Scott Hamilton, Richard Galliano, Thijs van Leer (Focus), Harold Land, Norma Winstone, Benny Bailey, Candy Dulfer, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Frank Vagan?e and many others.

Mike del Ferro is not only a "pure" jazz pianist, he loves many kinds of different music and plays many different styles.As a sideman he has been involved in recording dozens of albums, with music varying from Dixieland to Salsa.

He also arranged animation music for the Danish animator and Oscar winner B?rge Ring.
Between 1995 and 1997 he taught Jazzpiano at the Royal Conservatory in Gent (Belgium).

Current projects :
-Trio with "Opera meets Jazz".
-Frequently performs with the Quartet of Toots Thielemans.
-Guest appearances with Big Bands ect.
-Mike del Ferro is the recently appointed Director of Jazz Programs of American Voices. As such, he travels the world performing in a wide range of countries ranging from Latvia and Turkmenistan to Myanmar and Vietnam. In addition, he coordinates artistic programming for American Voices‚ jazz festivals in Baku, Almaty and Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City.
