Tatjana Grindenko

is one of the most talented violinists in the world. Her biography is full of numerous international prizes, concerts at the most important festivals, series of concerts the world over and numerous recordings of renaissance, baroque, modern music, jazz and rock, A career marred by nearly ten years of artistic silence imposed by the Soviet regime which prohibited her even from playing in the Socialist countries. Tatjana Grindenko had her come back in the West only in 1988, when she gave concerts with Gidon Kremer in Salzburg, Berlin and New York. A car-lover, she alternates driving in rallies with playing in concerts.
In 1970 she got first prize in the IV International Tchaikovsky Competition and in 1972 she won the first prize in the TV International Wieniawsky Competition in Poland.
In 1983 she founded the Moscow Academy of Early Music, which is now one of the most important ensembles in the world for baroque music. Many Soviet composers have written music for Tatjana Grindenko, such as Silvestrov, Martynov, Schnittke and Artiomov.
To Tatjana Grindenko and Gidon Kremer are dedicated to some among the most relevant modern compositions: "Concerto grosso" by Schnittke, "Tabula rasa " by Arvo Part, "Hay que caminar" by Luigi Nono... Together they recorded more than 10 records.
